Daddy’s Girl

Yep. I’m a daddy’s girl. I am eternally grateful for the earthly father I have been given. He doesn’t even have to be here with me, but I hear his motivational talks often in my head. He’s the one that pushes me towards greatness. In whatever it is I’m trying to achieve…it can be a physical goal like a half marathon (sorry, I have no desire to run for 26.2 miles!) or it can be relational like being the best mom I can be. He is my cheerleader in life.

Well, this morning on my way to dropping my boy off at school, this song came on, Fall in Love by Phantogram. I started to get all emotional. You see, a few weeks ago we had a bunch of neighbors over for a spontaneous get together by the bonfire and when this song came on the outside speakers everyone disappeared but my man and his baby girl. Back story is they just have the same crazy taste in music and it is one of their sweetest connections. Obviously not everyone literally disappeared, but they might as well have because Jason & Georgia were engulfed in their very own beautiful moment. It was comical and mystical all at the same time. They were doing these funny charade moves to the song and I wont forget my dear friend, Jamie touching my arm and pointing at the scene unfolding before us. In the midst of a party, Jason stopped the whole world for his little girl. He didn’t care what he looked like to the rest of us, he connected with Georgia in a way I hope he always will. I forgot to tell him what an amazing impression it made on my heart and how much my love runs so deep for him and overwhelms me when I see him shine in his role as a father. I am blessed. Georgia has a treasure of an earthly father.

So that song sent me spiraling into my thoughts on the world of a daddy’s girl and the immeasurable gift a father is to his daughter or daughters. 🙂 As a photographer I am granted access to catch glimpses at this special connection. Here are a few of my favorites!

This one I just happened to catch of Jason & Georgia walking in front of me downtown. I am so grateful I had my camera on me that day! This was completely not posed and I adore the way Georgia is glancing up at her daddy!

I will never forget in the middle of this session, he just picked up his baby girl and started tickling her. Oh the joy on her face!

And it doesn’t matter how many girls a father has, he will inevitably have a special bond with each of them…

This may be one of my all time favorite images…completely unposed, caught in the middle of the sweet embrace from his little girl, a father’s face shows it all. Deep love.

And may a daddy never stop chasing his girl! Chase her heart. Everyday. For always.2014-03-21_0004.jpg

Happy Friday!
