Happy Everything!

Today my parents celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary!! It also happens to be my moma’s birthday!!

Their love story is beautiful. It’s not perfect and I’m sure they’d say it wasn’t always pretty, but they have always given their all to each other and to our family. I wish I was the great story-teller my dad is and could remember all the beautiful details of how they met, fell in love and have kept it together for all these years…but take my word for it, it is beautiful!

Mom, happiest of birthday wishes to you! You deserve the richest blessings God offers here on earth.

Mom & Dad, thank you. Thank you for showing the world what love is. That love is patient, kind. It does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It ALWAYS protects, ALWAYS trusts, ALWAYS hopes, ALWAYS perseveres.

I’m pretty sure you two live by the Marine Corps motto “Semper Fi”. Thank you for being faithful and loyal to one another. That was the greatest gift you could have given your children. Seeing your love endure the seasons of life brings happiness. Brings so much joy. Brings unending hope.

There are so many pictures I love of the two of you, but this series we shot a couple of years ago on one of your visits is my favorite. I love you two and I so hope you are enjoying the sunrise in Cali this morning!
