Megan & Andrew

I can not believe it’s already been a month since Megan & Andrew said “I DO”…but it’s never too late to blog about their sweet day. Megan and her daughter Kate, who was also her maid of honor, let me follow them around the morning of October 4th while they got pampered for the day’s festivities. After the two of them had hair & makeup done by the beautiful and talented Melissa Pitts at Identity Salon on McBee Avenue we headed back to Megan’s home where her family was waiting to help her into her dress. Andrew was waiting at the Old Mill Garden at Falls Park in downtown Greenville for Megan’s arrival and their first look! They had the most beautiful intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest family members and then the reception to follow was held at Brick Street Cafe with friends & family. Their day was not only about their union as husband and wife, but as two families joining as one. They truly felt this was a family reunion as many had traveled far distances to be here. Megan & Andrew’s thoughtfulness to their friends and family throughout the day was felt and they even extended it to myself and Jodi, my second shooter. For the first time since starting to shoot weddings, we were invited to sit at a table as guests and enjoy dinner! These two truly are one of a kind.

Megan’s style was simple elegance and she chose to add a beautiful hair piece instead of the traditional veil.

I love the details…the bridesmaid’s dresses, the wedding gown, the shoes and rings.

Megan had her dearest long time friend Amy come in to stand beside her as a bridesmaid and they hadn’t seen each other until Megan was in her dress…the way these two grabbed hands was so sentimental and you knew it was a cherished friendship! Megan gave her two stunning sisters the honor of lacing the back of her dress…it was labor intensive, but the outcome was well worth the wait!!

Andrew wasn’t alone while he waited for his bride. He was surrounded with his family and their loved ones.

One of my favorite things about their day was that they chose to have a first look…I think that moment when a groom sees his bride and can show his true adoration for her beauty is more intimate and heartfelt when he can dote on her in private before the ceremony and that’s just what Andrew did.

As a photographer we get the advantage sometimes when the wedding takes place outside to get in close and capture the sweetest glances between the couple. I just loved the looks Megan & Andrew gave to one another throughout their ceremony. Genuine absolute love.

Brick Street Cafe was the perfect backdrop to continue their celebration and at the end of the night everyone raised a sparkler to wish them well. Congratulations, Megan & Andrew…may your love forever be as sweet as you two are!
