When I think about the Carsons, I always think about God’s light. Truly. Take this moment and picture God’s light. This family is just that. They are a family dedicated to following Christ in their life and shining for the world to see. I met Steve & Miranda a few years back never knowing the impact they would have on my life. I’ll never forget when Steve encouraged us to join their small group (something we had NEVER done!) and I was terrified! I’m not one for public speaking and the thought of sharing my life intimately with total strangers was not my idea of fun on Sunday night. But, Jason & I took that step in obedience that we knew God was calling us to join this community of believers and were FOREVER changed. Although our community group is not meeting on Sundays anymore, I will always feel connected to everyone in that group…we are family! As I’m writing I get emotional to remember the spiritual challenges I faced and was able to claim victory over because of Steve & Miranda’s faithful encouragement and Godly wisdom in my life. They have extended God’s love to so many and I am thankful for their friendship. We met people along this journey that glorify God so intensely that we ache to know God on a deeper level. Their lives encourage us to seek Him, draw closer to Him…that’s the Carsons for me. I know they are following Christ for every move they make and I want to be more like that in my spiritual walk. So, as if this wasn’t a shameless advertisement for community groups, I fully encourage you today to find someone that brings you closer to your heavenly Father! Shine bright for Him today!
