Kala & Joseph

These two had swept me off my feet from that moment at their engagement shoot when they broke out their guitars and voices to worship. I can not tell you how much I loved photographing this first wedding of 2015! So, let me take you to a little town called Abbeville, SC and reminisce about their beautiful rainy day wedding.

We arrived at Fellowship Worship Center to find Kala’s mother, Jennifer, applying her makeup and all the girls were giddy with excitement. As the day unfolded it was clear everything was in the details. Kala’s royal blue shoes for her “something blue” and her superman garter to match Joseph’s undershirt. Her dress was flawless, just like the flowers. Kala gave all her bridesmaids monogrammed button down shirts and so we were sure to capture those before the girls got their dresses on.2015-01-14_0002.jpg

Joseph and his groomsmen arrived and Joseph was grinning from ear to ear. He has such a heart for his bride. You can tell when you see that smile he plans to spend the rest of his days taking care of his lady. Another beautiful detail was the quiet moment Joseph & Kala shared before the ceremony when Joseph prayed over their marriage, all the while not seeing Kala in her dress. This marriage continued to be lifted up in prayer as Kala’s bridesmaids prayed over her and Joseph’s groomsmen prayed over him. To make the pre-ceremony sentiment that much sweeter I loved capturing the moment between Kala and her parents.

And just like that it was time for Jason to walk his beautiful daughter down the aisle to the man who would now take her hand in marriage. There wasn’t a dry eye in the sanctuary when Jason brought her down the aisle with so much heartfelt emotion you couldn’t help but be moved. Again, the details. Kala & Joseph had written their own vows for one another and Kala along with her worship leader sang out “How Great Thou Art” during their ceremony. Then with the exchanging of rings and the sweetest kiss, they were Mr. & Mrs. Osborne!

The reception was held at Greenwood Country Club and even though it continued to rain and make it impossible to head out onto the green, we found the prettiest light underneath the porch and front entrance.

This wedding party was ready to make a grand entrance and the reception guests were anxiously waiting to see the newlyweds! Each bridesmaid and groomsman pair brought their own flare to the game and it was so fun to watch!

After a buffet-style dinner it was time for the first dances and keeping in step with the rest of the day, it was pure sweet emotion.

I fell in love with their light mint green wedding cake and all the twinkling lights scattered around the room.

Of course, even with all of the sweet emotion of the day, this crowd knew how to have fun! Kala & Joseph are so carefree, they made sure to get a good cake smash in!

And what reception doesn’t need a little girl singing “Let it go”?

The night was filled with well wishes, big hugs, lots of dancing and the perfect sparkler send off. Kala & Joseph, I can not thank you enough for allowing me to partake in your beautiful wedding day and I wish you a lifetime of happiness and love!
